New Win Tec Company Limited (LEEO vehicle tail lifts) took a late-night roadside repair job last night. The driver said he found them by asking AI.

The short version: this is the first time a customer has told us plainly that they found us through AI. What makes it more interesting is who the driver was — a customer of another operator, who by his account would take at least an hour. New Win Tec arrived in 30 minutes, and had to cross the territory from Fo Tan to Tuen Mun to do it.

At the same time, the 24-hour emergency keyword shows 98% coverage and AI mention rank #1.4, with the latest AI answer naming New Win Tec Company Limited directly.

Below is what happened, the screenshots, and four things that should not be over-read.

What happened (client's report)

New Win Tec's owner reported this on WhatsApp this morning:

  • A roadside rescue call came in at 00:30 last night
  • The driver said he found them by asking AI
  • The driver knows the owner of another tail lift company, and says that company would take at least an hour
  • New Win Tec arrived in 30 minutes
  • The run was Fo Tan to Tuen Mun, also in 30 minutes

Why this job is worth writing down

Not because 30 minutes looks good, but because of how the customer arrived:

  • He was not new demand — he was someone else's customer. He already knew an established operator, and knew its owner.
  • What moved the job was response time, not price. By his account the other operator needed at least an hour; what AI offered him was a company that answers at 00:30.
  • Late night is exactly when search and ads are weakest. At that hour traditional SEO and paid search do very little. An AI answer naming you is one of the few things that still works.

For a repair business, emergency jobs usually carry the best margin, and people remember who picked up at 1am. That is the significance here.

Four things not to over-read

1. "Found them by asking AI" is the driver's account. We cannot verify what the answer said at the time, cannot reconstruct the conversation, and have no screenshot of the AI reply he saw. It is a first-hand verbal report, not a verifiable record.

2. Causation is not established. The job may have come from AI, or the driver may already have known of New Win Tec and used AI to confirm. We will not conclude that AI rank automatically produces business.

3. It is one job. Sample size: one. That cannot support a conversion rate, a revenue figure or an ROI claim, and it does not mean the same thing will happen for every keyword.

4. We are not naming the other operator. We do not name the company the driver mentioned, and we cannot verify the response time he described. "Took a job off the main competitor" is an appealing line, but we would rather only print what we can check.

Next steps

  1. From now on, log every customer who volunteers where they came from (AI, Google, referral, Price.com.hk and so on) so the source data becomes countable
  2. Do not change strategy because of one good news item — keep monitoring weekly on the same scope and read the 4-8 week trend
  3. Make the late-night / emergency service promise more concrete (coverage area, realistic arrival time, surcharges), because that is the specific fact AI will quote
  4. Check whether other emergency-type keywords are covered too, rather than relying on one

How to verify

AI answers change over time and ranks move. The #1.4 here is a single snapshot from the report; the WhatsApp content is the client's own account.

Summary

New Win Tec took an AI-referred emergency job late last night. The customer was previously with another operator, and New Win Tec got from Fo Tan to Tuen Mun in 30 minutes. Together with 98% coverage and AI mention rank #1.4 on the 24-hour emergency keyword, this is the most direct evidence we have that AI visibility is reaching real revenue.

It is still one job, though. We will keep monitoring, and we have started logging where customers say they came from, rather than drawing conclusions from one good result.

FAQ

Was this job really referred by AI?

The driver said in his own words that he found them by asking AI. That is the most direct source statement we have. We cannot verify what the answer actually said at the time and cannot reconstruct the conversation, so we do not claim causation.

How is the 24-hour emergency keyword performing?

The report shows 98% coverage and AI mention rank #1.4, and the latest AI answer (AI Overview / AI Mode) names New Win Tec Company Limited directly. That is consistent with the driver's account, but the two are separate facts and neither proves the other.

Why does this particular job matter?

Because the driver was already a customer of another operator and, by his account, that operator would take at least an hour. The job did not come from scratch demand — it moved across from an existing market share. That is a rare case where AI visibility maps directly onto revenue.

Can we estimate how much business AI brings from this one job?

No. It is a single case with a sample size of one, which cannot support any conversion or revenue estimate. Its value is showing that the path works, not producing a number you can extrapolate.
